Retaining information about life and death, the body is often one of the most crucial pieces of forensic evidence available. As well as obtaining individual data, such as age, sex, health, ancestry and appearance, the correct recovery of a body can provide clues about the final moments and interactions before death. Accordingly, this interdisciplinary course aims to give students an opportunity to gain a practical and theoretical understanding of how a body is dealt with in forensic science, progressing from initial search and recovery techniques, identification, to the courtroom.
