Prof. dr. Roelof-Jan Oostra

Roelof-Jan Oostra is Professor of Clinical and Comparative Morphology at the Dept. of Medical Biology, section Clinical Anatomy and Embryology of the University of Amsterdam, residing at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC. After his medical training and PhD, he was appointed as lecturer in 1997 at the Department of Anatomy and Embryology, where he became full professor in 2009. Besides teaching and developing education programs for various medical and biomedical bachelor, master and postgraduate curricula, he currently supervises 10 PhD students on various topics ranging from embryology and congenital anomalies to anthropology and taphonomy. He recently realized the first human taphonomic research facility in Europe (ARISTA). He started as CTO of the Amsterdam Surgical skills Center in 2018.
