For her PhD Marie-Louise Loos studied, in a national collaboration with Level 1 trauma centers and for one study also in collaboration with forensic physicians, children that were presented at a shock room of a Level 1 trauma center. The study shows that we miss abuse and especially neglect and that in the case of death there is actually far too little further investigation done.
