Florida International University in Miami, Florida is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in the Almirall Laboratory, Dept. of Chemistry and Biochemistry and International Forensic Research Institute for a one-year appointment with possible extension for one additional year. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry or Forensic Science and evidence of research excellence (publication/presentation record). Desired Qualifications: Previous knowledge and experience with forensic chemistry and/or analytical chemistry. Statistical analysis of data including multivariate experience is preferred. The postdoctoral research fellow will join a team of 12 researchers that aims to improve the analysis and interpretation of chemical evidence including using advanced statistical analyses of chemical data. The postdoctoral fellow will work with a team that includes 7 PhD students, an engineering group and a business mentor to develop prototype chemical field test kits for the identification of marijuana-type cannabis in the field. Knowledge and experience with advanced analytical instrumentation is preferred. Some research administration will also be required.
