In this session, Carry and Geert-Jan Knoops of Knoops’ Advocaten will explain their efforts including the use of forensic science to overturn a double wrongful conviction. They are assisted by Gerard de Haas and Jan Rooijakker who were involved in the investigation on behalf of the Public Prosecution Office and the Dutch Police. This case illustrates the importance of convincing and reliable evidence in criminal law proceedings and the access of the defense council to forensic investigative methods.
