We are inviting you for the 10th annual CLHC symposium on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the CWI Congress Centre at Amsterdam Science Park! This years conference is themed around our Spinoza visiting professor Shari Forbes who is internationally renowned for her groundbreaking work in forensic human taphonomy.

The theme of this edition is Taphonomy; every body tells a story, with a program that highlights the latest advances and applications across this exciting  forensic field.

We are honoured to welcome Prof. Shari Forbes, visiting Spinoza Professor, as our keynote speaker. Prof. Forbes is internationally renowned for her groundbreaking work in forensic human taphonomy. She established and directed world-leading human decomposition research facilities in Australia and Canada, providing unique opportunities to study the biological and chemical changes after death. Her pioneering research has advanced our understanding of time-since-death estimation, decomposition dynamics, forensic casework applications, disaster victim identification, and the search for missing persons.

The symposium will bring together students of the Forensic Science Master of the UvA, PhD students within the forensic network, forensic academic scientists, experts from the NFI, Police, ICMP, AmsterdamUMC, VU, and professionals from the Dutch criminal justice system—as well as everyone with a passion for forensic science in the Netherlands.

The annual CLHC symposium is a wonderful venue for sharing your latest research, starting collaborations, and exchanging ideas to advance forensic science. It also offers a great opportunity for networking, exploring internship and job opportunities, or finding new forensic colleagues.

In addition to the lectures, we will host a large poster session and networking lunch, including a forensic job market where participants can meet, connect, and collaborate. And of course, we will close the day with a toast to another successful CLHC event!

Please register beneath using the button below if you want to attend this full-day symposium. You are also invited to present your own research at the poster session during lunch. A capable jury will select the best CLHC poster, and the winner will receive a special award and prize from the CLHC board.

The venue of the symposium is Science Park Congress Center (CWI), Science Park 125, Amsterdam.

Deadline for registration is Monday October 20, 2025, 16:00 hours.
